Hi, I’m Jen.

I’m a mid-50’s, queer, neurodivergent person on an unexpected post-menopause weight loss journey using Zepbound (tirzepatide). I was diagnosed last year with bad sleep apnea and I failed my CPAP experience, so my next treatment protocol involves losing at least 50 pounds to improve my apnea.

I started Zepbound in March 2025 to help jumpstart this process. I have found few personal stories of the Zepbound experience to guide me, so I’m writing my own. I’ll talk about the good, the bad, the ugly, the data, and the emotions of this journey.

I also parent seven kids with my wife, so they’ll probably pop up in a few posts too.

This will always be a free publication. I’m writing what I experience / think / feel in hopes that it makes others feel less alone—or even just entertained. So if you want to read along, I’m grateful. You can buy me a coffee, if you’d like; instead of paying me though I’d recommend finding a queer Black writer, a queer Indigenous writer, a queer Latine writer, or an immigrant or refugee writer instead and financially supporting their publication. I’ve got privilege to share, and I encourage you to do the same.

Thanks for being here!

I’m an unlikely person to be writing about health: mid-50’s, fat, chronically ill, queer, neurodivergent. I’ve just been prescribed Zepbound (tirzepatide) to lose weight. Documenting the journey here.
